An SUV designed by an ex-Porsche designer was always going to turn heads.

The Jetour Dashing, first launched in South Africa two years ago, has now received a facelift, giving motorists even more style, features and technology.

The Dashing makes an immediate impression with its bold, coupe-inspired SUV styling. The refreshed model goes a step further with a more distinctive, modern appearance, a new 19-inch alloy wheel design, sporty quad brushed-aluminium tailpipe finishers and a panoramic glass sunroof.

Inside, the Dashing features a Sony eight-speaker premium sound system, dual-zone climate control, and heated and ventilated front seats for additional driving comfort. It also offers 486 litres of luggage capacity, expanding to 977 litres with the rear seats folded.

The Dashing is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 125 kW of power and 270 Nm of torque, paired with a smooth seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The most significant improvement is the addition of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. This suite of intelligent safety technologies can assist the driver with steering, acceleration and braking in certain situations, providing an extra layer of support and safety. Features include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, forward-collision warning, blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert.

Additional safety features include a 540-degree panoramic-view camera system, intelligent high- and low-beam headlights, front parking sensors, and comprehensive front, side and curtain airbags.

Reviews of both the original Dashing and the facelifted version highlight the design as a standout feature, describing it as futuristic, sporty and premium-looking. The generous standard specification, premium cabin and extensive technology package are also regularly mentioned among the vehicle's strongest selling points.

The Dashing is priced from R429 900 for the Prestige model and R479 900 for the higher-spec Prime model. It is available in Onyx Black, Slate Grey, Forest Green, Ash Grey, Crimson Red and Glacier White.
